Our Story
The Welcome Network began in 2014 as a small immigration legal clinic serving migrant families in Northwest Indiana. What started with a handful of cases has grown into a regional movement of churches, volunteers, and community partners walking alongside more than 1,000 newcomers seeking safety, stability, and belonging.

Over the years, our work has expanded through global learning trips to Lebanon, partnerships with World Relief, Catholic Charities, and New Life Centers, and the creation of Welcome Homes, a temporary housing program for asylum-seeking families from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Venezuela, and the DRC.

Our volunteers are at the heart of this mission. Families across Indiana and Illinois have opened their homes, shared meals, offered rides, taught English, and formed lasting friendships that help newcomers rebuild their lives. Community events like our annual Welcome Run 5K also strengthen these bonds, bringing neighbors together to support migrant families in practical and inspiring ways.

Today, we continue serving through legal services, church and community engagement, and refugee resettlement. We invite you to be part of our growing network of volunteers and supporters who help make welcome possible every day.
