Family Hosting
One of the most meaningful ways to support newcomers is by opening your home. Through The Welcome Network's Family Hosting program, volunteers provide temporary housing and hospitality to asylum-seeking and refugee families as they begin rebuilding their lives in the United States. For many newcomers, a welcoming home can make the difference between isolation and belonging during a critical season of transition.
Host families offer more than a place to stay—they provide stability, encouragement, friendship, and a tangible expression of welcome. While every hosting experience is unique, The Welcome Network works closely with both hosts and guests to provide guidance, support, and clear expectations throughout the process.
Why It Matters
Many asylum-seeking and refugee families arrive in the United States with limited resources, few local connections, and an uncertain path ahead. Temporary housing can provide the safety and stability needed to take the next steps toward independence. By becoming a host family, you become part of a community committed to helping newcomer families find hope, dignity, and a place to belong.
