Welcome Run

Thank You for an Amazing Welcome Run 2026!

On October 10, our community came together in Lansing, Illinois, for another wonderful Welcome Run 5K! Under the theme “For New Beginnings,” runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters joined us to celebrate the power of community and the importance of welcoming those seeking safety, stability, and hope.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, or cheered us on. Your generosity and commitment help make the work of The Welcome Network possible. Every step mattered. Every act of welcome makes a difference.

More Than a Race

The Welcome Run is more than an annual 5K. It is an opportunity for our community to come together and make a meaningful difference in the lives of immigrant and refugee families.

This year, we had the privilege of hearing from two families served by The Welcome Network. Their personal stories of resilience, hope, and new beginnings reminded us why we run and the lasting impact that a welcoming community can have.

Funds raised through the event support The Welcome Network’s Welcome Homes and resettlement efforts, helping provide safe housing, essential household supplies, and practical support for families rebuilding their lives.

We invite you to read their stories and discover what your support makes possible. Click on their photos to read their stories and discover what your support makes possible.
