WELCOME GATHERINGS

The Welcome Gatherings are quarterly community meals hosted in partnership with local churches. They bring together volunteers, church partners, and newcomer families around the table to foster belonging, friendship, and mutual care.

These gatherings are rooted in hospitality. They create space for families to step out of survival mode, relax, share a meal, and experience genuine community. For volunteers and church partners, the Welcome Gatherings offer meaningful opportunities to build relationships, listen to stories, and walk alongside families in a spirit of welcome.
The Welcome Gatherings are also a gentle entry point for those who are curious about getting involved with The Welcome Network. New volunteers are always welcome to join, meet others in the community, and learn more about how to participate in this shared work of hospitality.

Our first Welcome Gathering of the year took place on January 31 at St. John the Evangelist (Trinity Hall). It was a joyful evening of shared food, laughter, and connection between volunteers, partner churches, and families from our Welcome Homes.

These gatherings continue throughout the year:
-
April 25 – Welcome Gathering at Faith Church (Munster)
-
July 25 – Welcome Gathering: Back to School
-
November 14 – Welcome Gathering: Friendsgiving

Each gathering is a reminder that welcome is not just a service we provide, but a community we build together.
