Current Volunteer Opportunities
Many of our Welcome Homes rely on the generosity of volunteers and community partners to remain safe, functional, and welcoming for newcomer families. Below are some of our current projects and material needs.
Storm-Damaged Roof Repair
Help us repair the roof damage at one of our Welcome Homes following last severe storm. A fallen tree branch created an opening in the roof and damaged the exterior structure near the third-floor access.
🛠 Volunteers with roofing, construction, or repair experience are especially needed.
💵 Donations toward roofing materials and professional repairs are also welcome.
Interior Storm Damage Repair
The roof damage also affected the interior of the home, leaving portions of the ceiling and surrounding area in need of repair and restoration.
🛠 Volunteers with drywall, carpentry, painting, or general home repair experience are appreciated.
💵 Material donations and financial support toward repairs are welcome.
🔧 Repair Gutter Extension
Support a small exterior maintenance project by repairing a damaged gutter extension to help protect the property.
🛠 Basic repair assistance and materials are welcome.
🪟 Install Garage Windows
Assist with installing two new windows in the Grant Street garage to improve safety, insulation, and functionality.
🛠 Volunteers with installation or construction experience appreciated.
💵 Donations toward materials are welcome.
Secure Retaining Wall
Help improve safety and stability behind the Grant Street property by securing loose cinderblocks along the alley wall.
🛠 Volunteers with masonry or construction experience are especially appreciated.
💵 Material donations are also welcome.
🛝 Restore Children’s Playhouse
Help refresh and repair a small play area used by children living in our Welcome Homes, creating a safer and more welcoming space for families.
🛠 Painting, repairs, and general cleanup assistance needed.
