Run for Refugees 5K

Join us for the 6th annual Run for Refugees!

This year’s Run for Refugees will take place on October 5th, 2024 at 9am. The race will start and end at:

Living Word Church 2248 186th St Lansing, IL 60439

All proceeds from the race benefit The Welcome Network, which resettles newcomers from various countries in the world. These newcomers have fled their home countries because of war or persecution.

 

Stay tuned for more details about this year's race, like registration fees and fundraising goals.  We will have early-bird pricing, as well as family and group discounts.

The Run for Refugees’ fast, flat course will begin and end at Living Word Church.  Similar to previous years, it will be a double loop around the adjoining neighborhood.

This is the third time Living Word Church has hosted the Run for Refugees, and the sixth annual run. Here are a few important things to know:

• The 5K (3.1 miles) is open to serious runners and walkers.
• It’s a family atmosphere—strollers and kids are encouraged!
• This event will be timed by j3 Timing to ensure timing accuracy.
• There will be prizes for top finishers overall and in age-group categories.
